Do you want to foster physical and mental health within the young people in your life? Are you wanting to assist them in setting up great habits that will serve them for their whole life?
Starting yoga young can have wide-reaching benefits and whilst the research on the effects of yoga on children and young people’s mental health and well-being is at an early stage, many early studies do strongly suggest a whole host of mental, emotional and physical benefits from the practice: Yoga for Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Well-Being: Research Review and Reflections on the Mental Health Potentials of Yoga
- Yoga can help young people de-stress from a demanding school day
- It gives them tools to listen inward to their bodies, feelings, and ideas
- It helps to develop focus and mindfulness
- It can improve posture, physical strength and mobility
- It can promote a love of movement
- It can promote better breathing techniques
- It can profile feelings of calm, ease, contentment and confidence
- It can improve concentration and memory
